Privacy Policy — TrueNotification

Your family’s privacy is our highest priority. TrueNotification collects only what is necessary to provide parental monitoring features. We do not sell personal data and we do not show ads based on child data.

0. Important Notice (Prominent Disclosure)

  • TrueNotification is a parental monitoring app intended for lawful use by parents/guardians.
  • Monitoring features require explicit permission on the child device (e.g., Notification Access, Usage Access).
  • We do not support covert surveillance, stalking, or spying. Use without proper authorization may violate laws.
  • The child device data is visible only to the paired/authorized parent account.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy describes how TrueNotification (“we”, “us”) collects and processes information through the TrueNotification mobile app and our website.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 On Parent Device:

  • Name, email address, phone number (registration)
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • FCM token for push notifications
  • Session authentication tokens

2.2 On Child Device (with parental authorization and device permissions):

  • Notifications: app name, title, message body (when Notification Access is enabled)
  • App usage / screen time: per-app usage duration and statistics (when Usage Access is enabled)
  • Call logs metadata: number, duration, type (only if enabled by parent and allowed by OS permissions)
  • SMS metadata: sender, content preview (only if enabled by parent and allowed by OS permissions)
  • Battery level percentage
  • Device model and identifier (for pairing and fraud prevention)

3. Permissions & How We Use Them

TrueNotification may request the following sensitive permissions/features to provide core monitoring functions:

  • Notification Access: to capture notifications received on the child device and show them to the authorized parent.
  • Usage Access: to calculate screen time and app usage statistics on the child device.
  • Foreground Service / Persistent Notification: to keep monitoring active and transparent while the service is running.
  • Optional permissions (Call/SMS): only for call/SMS monitoring when enabled by the parent and permitted by Android.

We do not collect data unrelated to these features. If a permission is not granted, the related feature will not work.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide monitoring features to authorized parent accounts
  • To sync child device data to the parent dashboard
  • To send push notifications to the parent device
  • To maintain account security and prevent unauthorized access
  • To improve app performance, reliability, and fix bugs

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only with:

  • Firebase (Google): For push notification delivery (FCM)
  • Hosting providers: For secure storage and processing under confidentiality and security obligations
  • Legal authorities: Only when required by law or valid legal process

6. Data Retention

  • Notification logs: retained up to 90 days
  • Call and SMS logs: retained up to 60 days
  • Account data: deleted within 30 days after account closure (unless retention is required by law)

7. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS). We apply industry-standard security measures such as access controls, rate limiting, input validation, and session protection. While no system is 100% secure, we work continuously to protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

TrueNotification is designed for parents/guardians to help protect children's digital safety. We do not use children’s data for advertising, profiling, or marketing. Child device data is accessible only to the authorized paired parent account.

9. Your Rights & Controls

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data (when available)
  • Disable monitoring permissions on the child device to stop collection for that feature

10. Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion by emailing privacy@truenotification.app from your registered email. We may verify your identity to protect your account. Requests are processed within 30 days.

11. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

12. International Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located in different regions depending on hosting providers. We apply appropriate safeguards to protect data during processing and storage.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice in-app or via email.
